Opening Shot
-Setting of the opening scene
-Date of the setting
-The absence of revealing too much
-Genre Signifiers
-Narrative Enigma
-Audio (Diegetic or Non Diegetic)- Usually Non-Diegetic e.g. music
-Exposition
-Use of Camera Shots
-How does it end and transition into the next stage of the film. How is it handled?

Titles used & Style of Titles
-Fundamental parts of the title. Does it reflect upon the film or represent anything relating to the genre of the film
-How the titles are worded
-Signifiers to the film

Characters 
-What framing and editing techniques are used to signify the protagonist or antagonist?
-Age
-Gender
-Nationality

Costume
-Signify genre
-Verisimilitude

Sound/Music
-Audio Bridge
-Fade in and Out (More Sophisticated)
-Voice over

Intertextuality (The meaning of one text is linked to the meaning of another)
-Making it more relatable to the audience
-Linking to a secondary audience e.g. film made for target audience of 16-25 however with links to an older film to relate to an older audience
